Great Location - walk to the beach or Carlsbad Village

For Southern California coastal living this was the best. Carlsbad Village has many great shops and restaurants to go to and always a free of charge ocean to walk, jog, bike, or surf.
The current management/maintenance team is great and finally stable (after a few changes with property ownshership/manangement).
Things to be aware of is that one side of the complex is next to the train tracks, there are only a limited number of assign parking spots (for those with more than one car and don't want to spend extra for a garage you'll have to find a spot out on the street). Btw. For those who like to do handy work in a private garage Carlsbad Coast Apts makes it available.
Can be a bit noisy on weekend nights but mostly the tenants are well behaved. (Realize the apartments are courtyard design an people will have doors and windows open and on summer nights you hear your neighbors).
The pool, sundeck, and small exercise room are nice and rarely used. Laundry runs $1.25 wash .75 dry (usually you'll need to dry cycles when humid). Late evening/early morning fog is common along the coast).
Heating was inadequate I needed my own space heater for winter nights. I had trouble with argentine ants one summer (not uncommon in Carlsbad).
For the price, location (especially if you work or go to school in the area) Carlsbad Coast Apartments is wonderful.
