Metric Property Management is the worst thing that has ever happened to this apartment complex. The staff is extremely unfriendly, rude, and has no attention to your needs. They treat the residents like 2 year old kids, leaving nasty notices on people's doors day and night. They refuse to take care of obvious problems. They refuse to properly maintain and upkeep the buildings (has anyone noticed the rust marks underneith the shutters of all the buildings). They are poorly staffed, and they run the property like it's a cash cow. The previous management (JPI) was just awesome, but these guys at Metric don't know how to treat their residents. They have slowly taken away priveledges and amenities, all in the name of saving a few bucks, or making things run "smoother" for Metric. They have changed the pet policy, and not notified the residence of this change. They have decreased the grace period for being late on the rent, and don't tell you this until you renew your lease and you're ready to sign on the x. They have increased the lease periods, so that you're locked into an even longer period of misery. They cancelled the gate code, only to INCONVENIENCE us residents and further lock down the community - meanwhile unwanted guests still easilly gain access to the apartment complex by just following another car through the gate.
I wish I could rave about the "luxury" amenities of this community, and the "white on white appliances", "designer kitchens", and oh yeah.. "Berber carpet"..
But all I have to say is this is all just a scam to make you feel warm and fuzzy about paying them the outrageous rent they charge for these apartments.
First of all, let me start with the "Berber carpet"... If you live there longer then 6 months, you will surely realize that it's the cheapest carpet money can buy. After that beautiful "new carpet smell" and look have worn off, you will quickly realize how cheap the carpet is. The carpet falls apart, comes up in the ends, and is very noisy and uncomfortable to walk around on. It attracts dirt like no other, and is impossible to clean. And the irony of the whole thing is they'll probably keep my deposit when I move out to pay for the carpet replacement, even though this is definately normal wear and tear for this cheap junk.
Secondly, the entry ways to the building are terrible. They attract unsightly odors, bugs, dirt, dust, spiders, cobwebs, you name it. And the management never cleans it (just as the guy in the 9/11/02 review says), so it just continues to get worse and worse. Trash is left out all morning and early afternoon on trash pickup days. I remember when the OLD MANAGEMENT was there, the trash was always removed by 10am at the latest on trash pickup days! Someone is being EXTREMELY LAZY by collecting all the trash down at the bottom of the stairs and then coming back later to pick it up! If you can't do the job right, then you shouldn't be taking it out to sit on the curb - it's an unsightly embarassment to all who live here.
I could go on and on about the construction quality, but the walls in my apartment are cracking every where from the settling of the bulding, and let's not even go into how well the doors open and close from the poor construction quality. Sound insulation' Forget it! I can hear when my neighbor flushes their toilet. I expected a lot more when I signed up for this.
I guess since I'm writing a review, I should be honest and say what I do like so you don't think I'm completely negative. I love the crown moldings in the living room (although they should have done the bedrooms as well), I love the direct access garages, having a washer and dryer in the apartment, and even the vegitable sprayer faucet and countertop lighting under the cubboards in the kitchen is a nice touch.
Overall, my experience with the new management has been so poor that I will not be renewing my lease when it comes back up again. I feel that these people don't care about their residents and have no interest in fulfilling the needs of their "Bread and butter" customers such as myself who have no intentions of buying property any time soon.
