Outrageous Moving out costs
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 8/30/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
Lived here for a little over a year, went from a one bedroom to a two. The parking is bad and before I left the street that was the only alternative was trying to make itself a no parking period street because they believed that the residents from rising glen were being loud and drunk on their street. The apartments were old, had a problem with mold, paint, older appliances in need of repair, and bad carpeting. I did notice a homeless man behind the apartments on several occasions looking in through windows and reported him but nothing was done. Upon move out we were charged too much, they kept the $300 deposit and the $400 pet deposit and still asked for that amount and a half. Said the carpeting had to be replaced and that the place was filthy. The carpeting was bad when we moved in and when we asked the office to produce documents saying how old it was they said they would try and get back to us later. The more we asked the ruder they became. They never gave us anything saying how old the carpet was. And they were quite blatantly rude when we were asking them to explain the moving costs and hung on my husband three times in one week. They also never gave us straight answers but instead would beat around the bush. Very annoying. A few of the maintenance guys didn't speak english at all really and would start work, leave to get a tool and never come back. Things that were needing fixing when we moved in were still not fixed when we moved out. Just overall, old battered apartments, rude staff, poor maintenance, and terrible parking that was rarely enforced.
