I have had my car broken into twice and it's not a nice car. I've never had anything of real value stolen, which leads me to think it's poor/stupid people. Poor because they are stupid. The gates are an inconvenience and leave much to be desired when everyone knows gates don't prevent anything. People can still get in, just not drive. That way, when people break into your car, you won't see their license plates.
