I'm baffled by the negative reviews about Santa Fe Ranch(SFR) and I strongly think they are very isolated cases. I've lived here for 18 months, and the experience has been nothing but positive. Prior to moving in, my wife and I looked at 5 other apartment complexes in south Carlsbad / Encinitas areas. We specifically looked for 2BR units with 2 parking spots & in-unit washer/dryer. SFR is by far the best.

Parking is NEVER an issue. Period. Security-wise, we've never had any concerns. If safety here is an issue with you, then you'll have an issue anywhere else. My neighbors all seem to be very mature people who don't party or put on loud music, so noise has never been an issue. We live in a unit facing Stage Coach Park, so all we hear are birds chirping with sounds of kids playing soccer on some Sat mornings in the far distance; it is very peaceful.

We've called in a few times for plumbing assistance and appliance fixtures, and they've always sent someone in to fix it within a day. When routine maintenance needs to be done for the entire complex, you're given plenty of advance notices. Storage spaces(2) by the balcony is huge!

One note: when you move in, be sure to vaccum the carpet immediately and thoroughly. The office asks you to make pre-existing damages, stains, etc. soon after you move in. In my case, as I vaccumed more & more, stains from previous tenants began to appear on the carpet, and they were DEFINITELY not by us. I'm a bit concerned about the amount of chemical used to clean and cover up the carpet.

No, I'm not related to any of the management staff or employee. I had very minimal contact with them during our 1.5 years there. We moved out of state for job reasons in 2007. I'm just providing MY experience & feedback. That's the point of this website, isn't it?

You have to be part of the management staff or an employee. Better yet, you must have been paid to say these things because you sure don't live here.
