The color enhanced advertisements make you think you are moving into a luxury apartment home, but beware. The buildings are older than dirt. My apartment was uninhabitable. The carpet had flees from the prior tenants which infested my indoor cat and caused worms. The filthy dirty fireplaces no longer meet building code requirements. The chimney flues were built too close. The downstairs neighbor's fireplace exhaust regularly entered into my unit while they were burning logs. I had two professional fireplace inspections with recommendations on how to repair the problem. However, SFR management decided to deny the problem existed in order to avoid taking responsibility for the well documented smoke damage to my furniture & the health aggravations to my daughter's asthma which required emergency care and evacuations. As if this weren't bad enough, the maintenance/landscapers were trying to date me. Every time I reported them for harassment, they vandalized my vehicle. My daughter's brand new computer and mountain bike were stolen. The security guards were mentally retarded. The neighbors were downright scary. And the police apparently had more important things to do solve crimes. So glad I left that hell hole they call "Luxuary Resort style Living". Yeah right!! Luxury living for an x-convict maybe'!

I've lived here for several years now and every year the chimney has been professionally cleaned and inspected for damage paid for by the management. Maintenance personnel respond promptly to all called in work requests and the office personnel recently called to check with me on a work order to verify I had been satisfied. Since the tenant who wrote the above review left in 2004; a very professional maintenance manager has been appointed and the staff from the landscaping company are completely new. The buildings are recently renovated and pest control for all tenants is free for the asking and always has been. I believe the security contractor is also new since 2004 and has the best reputation in the area. The Carlsbad Police are the best in the business and answer all calls and assign incident numbers to each issue. All Police develop very active honesty instincts. What happened to the women's computer and bike I cannot explain but there are few burgularies here and I am nosey enough to hear just about everything. Police files are public record and crimes are reported in the local paper. There just aren't that many locally and I'm sure I would have read about this and recalled it. It sounds to me that the complainant either did not avail herself of the excellent services provided or was looking for problems so she could sue or avoid paying rent. Maybe the problem here is the tennant herself.

It sounds like you work for or most likely manage SFR or you would not have responded with such haste and resentment. I did not sue or fail to pay rent as you have falsely accused. I just got the hell out while I could. Besides, if SFR has improved since I left, there would be more positive reviews. SFR is only recommended by 31% of its tenants. So mind your own business and let those of us who were dissatisfied voice our opinions on this site. And stop accusing me of things that are not true! I can back myself up with police reports and such. But I don't have to answer to the likes of you. Do I?!! Nosey Bugger!!!

There has not been any renovations on the property. That is a complete lie. I have been living there for the past 2 years and the place is still a rat hole. The place is not managed properly. They need to dispense of the entire staff. Management/Leasing crew are impossible to work with. The maintenance crew have no clue of what they are doing. That is the reason the entire property is so decrepit. It is run down and very dirty.
