Great place, great location, mangement makes us want to move out.

I just moved out and let me warn you about this place...I'll never look back.
I love the area, love the location and my ocean view...I loved the layouts and the residents but there's quite a few issues within management that have driven not only myself and my family to move out...but others as well.
The managers there have been unfortunately in employment there for about 5 years. They focus on petty gossip than anything else...including their acutal jobs...to create and maintain a balanced, well appointed and homely community...this is where they fail. They'll fill an apartment but once you're locked into a lease the only thing they seem to care about is your rent check.
They'll do what it takes to get you into an apartment despite what preferences you have.
"Oh no, we've never had a sound complaint from the downstairs units"
...apparently the downstairs units in 3 neighboring buildings haven't had residents for more than 1 year...nobody wants to renew their lease...
They've pointed out a --- resident recently, said things about other resident's families and their "nature", and many other unmentionable things. They've also gossiped in ways that would turn one resident against another.
"Yes of course this apartment has beige carpet"
(in one case the couple confirmed this multiple times before purchasing their new living room furniture to match) They weren't allowed to see the apartment until they signed the lease...the carpet was blue.
"The carpet in your apartment will be all brand new"
(With the previous residents furniture markings still in the carpet, they still say its was new)
The turnover for people moving in and out is extremely high. That alone should be enough to keep you from moving here.
If you report your issues to either manager it takes multiple tries to get anything fixed.
One resident went in to turn his rent in and heard that "The trouble makers over in such and such apartment are doing this and that" (private info)
There's a lot of age & sexual orientation discrimination there. It's dispicable.
If there was anybody else managing these apartments I would have stayed for another year or longer. We're in the process of buying a house but I had to get out of there because I had a lot of unnecessary stress added onto my personal life by the "community managers". I didn't mind moving...it was worth it.

I should have listened to this person before I signed my lease. We haven't even moved in yet and we have already come across the carpet situation with the office staff. They are liars and I am now regretting my decision to move into this community. It is too late now and I don't know how I am going to get though this next year. I am going to make it my mission in the next year to get the word out that the management in this community sucks and I want to make sure people stay away from this place. It’s a shame because the community and condos seem very nice, except for the dirty ass carpet that they think they can clean. I am so mad right now, once we signed the lease they started to treat us bad, they don't admit when they are wrong. What ever happened to the customer always being right? I just hope my experience gets better and I listen to my inner voice next time. I should have stayed away!!!!!!

This sounds just like our problems at ALICANTE VIEWS.
Torey Pines Management is the greediest company I have ever worked with.
Rates go up: They add outside water bills/insider water bills/sewer/RENT INCREASES. God forbid you are late with OUTSIDE BILLING FOR THESE, they will threaten eviction.
IF YOU WANT TO LIVE IN HELL, THEN MOVE TO ALICANTE VIEWS.
You'ld be better off moving to Texas.
