Not good, not bad. Just OK.

I've lived at The Village Apartments for the past year and have decided to move out primarily due to the price. I was paying $1395 for a one bedroom apartment which is above the going rate for the area. I don't mind paying the price for an apartment as long as it is worth it. I unfortunately lived about 50 feet from the railroad with can be VERY annoying. Trains pass by at least once an hour and always blow the horn due to because Tamarack crosses the track very close. The backyards offered are very nice as long as you are willing and able to maintain it. Some improvements can be made to this community. For example, better windows rather than single pain windows that are old and hard to open. Also, the kitchen is rather small. My apartment had a smaller than the average refrigerator, a miniature range/stove, and no dishwasher. Full size appliances and dishwashers appear to be standard in most complexes. As for storage, a definite plus! The two large storage areas come in handy. I did experience some noise problems but what do you expect in an apartment. This was my first apartment in Carlsbad, but the spiders were out of control at the Village Apartments. The complex offers free pest control but I probably 'removed' 4-5 spiders a week from my apartment.
