I am a single girl and have lived in the same aparment for almost 2 years now. I have had a good experience overall so far but I must admit that I have been lucky. In the last year that have been multiple managers, multiple cars stolen, break-ins and even a shooting where one of the residents was killed. I feel safe inside my apartment but once I walk outside who the hell knows what will happen' I have had mostly good experience so far with neighbors but the truth of the matter is that the management can only regulate who they rent to, not who the tenant is friends with, dating, ect. I think if you are a single girl, family or not looking for ANY drama, then this is not the place for you. If you don't mind saving a little money and dealing with a little crap here and there, then give it a try. I definitely recommend a 6 month lease so you don't get stuck somewhere you hate. Over all my time at Atherton has been good but I think I will leave at the end of my next lease and find somewhere I feel safer. Good luck!

Totally agree with the fact the managers cant dictate what friends residents can bring in. but i have to disagree with who was killed, it wasn't a neighbor but a neighbor's friend. my car hasnt been vandalized at all and i haven't been broken into. i truely believe that a lot of what happens in your life, depends on who you associate yourself with. I dont involve myself with negative people, so the drama tends to not involve me. not to say that it can't happen; like they say, ---- happens.
