Westwood Apartments

Ugh. From: missaileen Date posted: 4/16/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008 6 photos   The review below was written in Feb. We had to move out by March 21st and it was absolute HELL. The new manager is a jerk and NEVER returns phone calls or emails. We sent SEVERAL renters their way when we looked for someone to take our apartment when we left since it was before our lease was up. What did they do' They signed them up under new leases instead of to take our apartment. They even admitted it by saying "I don't know how you were advertising but we got several sign ups from your ads! Thanks!" This was only 2 days after we found the person to take our apartment, so obviously they were taking people that WE were sending them to take our apartment. This apartment complex is pretty, the people are nice, a lot of long term residents, maintenance is good, but MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE. -------- My boyfriend and I were looking for our first apartment while we were up here for about 9 months while he went to school. Of all the apartments we looked at, this is the nicest apartment complex for the price. They did just get a new manager who does seem kind of annoyed at times, but she really does get the job done fast and right. We were having toilet problems and called maintenance at about midnight and within 15 minutes a guy was at the door ready to fix it. It was great and he was very helpful. We haven't found leaks or mold or anything these people are complaining about. Two cars were stolen, but when you have an old crappy car that's easy to break into, that's not something I wouldn't expect. The management does their very best to keep things safe and for the most part, everything is good. Remember when reading reviews - more people are inclined to write a review if they're unhappy than if they're happy. So you have to keep that in mind when you're looking at the reviews and star ratings! There are plenty of people who have lived here for YEARS and love it. The community (at least who we've run in to) is full of very nice people. Our next door neighbor is a sweet older lady as well as one of the ladies down stairs. There are a lot of single women living here, young and old, and you know that means it's pretty safe. I've also noticed that the cars in this complex are newer and nicer than in some other complexes, proving that there are a lot more quality people here than in other complexes.
