Looks nice but it is not safe!

We have lived here for close to two years. We liked the fact that the building appeared secure, quiet and well maintained. Also, as it used to be a senior home community, we expected that the people will be well behaved. But, that is not really the case. The seniors who lived here for many years have begun an exodus. There were so many managers in a short time that it was pretty clear no one wanted to stay in that job (they were all nice, by the way). Many tenants are rough, rude and do not appear to have a decent income. There are frequent robberies from the garage. We lost many items from our cars. In just one year, there were probably no less than 10 instances of theft complaints. The gate code was changed often but, evidently, not often enough. I suspect many of the residents were themselves stealing stuff.
This is important: do not under any circumstance agree to live in a first floor apartment. The building structure is so weak that the floor shakes even when a child walks.
Maintenance is excellent and the rent appears well priced. But, we would not live here or recommend anyone to do so under the assumption that living here is safe. If you must, occupy a second floor apartment and be very careful about the neighbors and insure that you lock the car and do not leave anything of value in them.
And, of course, it is not a child friendly place. AD2Hw9Wn8Umb3NN1w1jt

It is interesting to me that so many people would bash a residence and not give their name, even a first name. My name is Mari. I used to be a manager at this building. I no longer work for the company because a better position in a different field opened up. But I loved the community and the company. Virginia was the permanent manager while I was there and I just took over while she was on maternity leave. Many of the residents were great but there were some PILLS but that is expected anywhere you go. How safe was it? well I would never leave any valuables in my car regardless were I am. I never worried for my own personal welfare. But if you leave things like music equipment, computers, IPods etc it can and most likely will get stolen in the "Safest of neighborhoods". And trust me being a manager some of the more "Intelligent" residents did just that.
I think the rent is way too high but I think the rent is too high in LA period. If I could afford it and I liked the valley and worked in the area I would definitely consider this a great place to live. Maybe not with children but then again children need their space i.e. a yard, a park etc.

My name is David. I lived there a few years ago. I am not afraid to say my name. In fact I wrote a negative feedback in 07. My car was broken into, but nothing was taken. The apartments idea of security was to add false cameras and change the code. Only problem was anyone with half a brain could see that it was a fake camera.
I don't believe enough was done. Cameras could have been reviewed from all exits in cooperation with the police, especially if it was thought that a tennant could be the culprit.
I do agree that the Managers were nice. I loved our managers (all of them) however I feel it was the owners that limited the Manager's abilities.
