Some good things, some BIG issues

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I've lived here for a year and a few months. The actual apartments are quite nice. I wouldn't go so far as to call them "luxury," but mine is just fine, exactly as presented. My MAJOR problem with the place: the staff "lost" the keys to several apartments. Last year when I was moving in, some of the kids who live here came into the office with a keyring with the keys to at least 50 units. They found the keys just sitting in an open garage and were nice enough to return them. A month ago, I called in a maintenance request, and was called back (two weeks later) and told that the issue had not been resolved because my key had gone "missing." This leads me to believe that either the staff members are so irresponsible as to lose the keys to OTHER people's units, or they were stolen, which could only happen if they were not on the staff's person at all times (like when the kids found them last year). I know the actual head maintenance man, and he is a great fellow who fixes things correctly and quickly, but someone(s) around here should NOT be on staff.
As others have mentioned, the parking situation is annoying. Each apartment gets one space, which bites when you have more than one car. What annoys me about this is that when I first moved here, there was no assigned parking; all residents got a sticker to put on their car, and the management was supposed to tow away cars that parked without a sticker. Problem is, they never did that, and instead of solving that problem, they switched to the assigned parking. That is typical of the staff: not very helpful. Mostly they're very nice in person, but not much seems to get done. And forget about talking with the actual manager (Letty); that apparently is just not an option.
The area is very nice, though. The apartments are close to lots of amenities, but far enough from busy roads to be very peaceful and quiet. I liked it enough to renew my lease back in June, but will be moving when it expires next year, mostly because of the key situation. How irresponsible.
