Cheapest rent you can get in San Diego for a decent apartment

Overall, I enjoyed living here.
Pros:
The #1 benefit is the price. This was the cheapest rent I could find for a 2BR 2 bath apartment ($1350) in the San Diego area, that was of a decent size (909 sq ft) and in a decent area.
The neighborhood is pretty safe. In general there is not really any crime that I have heard of reported. The surrounding neighborhoods on all sides are much nicer than the actual apartments themselves.
There is nice landscaping, and pretty vines on the balconies.
The people in the office are knowledgeable and professional and always know the answer to my questions.
The down-side:
The buildings were built in 1978. Which means that the pipes are old, and there can be a lot of problems in the apartments. I.e., roof leaking, plumbing issues, oven not working, etc. However, when you call them for maintenance, they do come and try to fix it. Most of the time they do fix the problem, and overall I was basically satisfied with the situation.
I would recommend it, as a place that is a good deal and still a decent place to live. I would still live here if I wasn't moving out of the state.
