Your first thought when entering the complex is that it is gated. IT IS NOT!! There is a gate but they do not use it or have tried to fix it. The reason' Because too many people run into it. While I don't disagree that it happens, I feel safety is more important than repairing the gate. With that I feel its not a very safe community. My car got broken into twice and I saw glass all over the ground with no car in sight. Stolen maybe' A big majority of the cars have clubs so I think the owners are aware of the situation.
The fencing along the property gets jumped over constantly. It is not completely rod-iron fencing like most of the complex and has some chain linked parts that are flimsy. I see guys jumping over them to take a short cut through the complex all the time.
Management needs some help. They are not very socialble in the sense of making you feel comfortable and welcome. While they do a great job they don't know your name when you walk in the door unless you've had multiple problems. They rather leave a note on your door then talk to you face to face or over the phone. If you have a question they ask you to call them and leave them a message. If they call you, they do not leave a message and wonder why later you didn't get back to them right away. They seem to be on top of it but lack follow through unless pushed. I still have yet to get all my papers from when I signed the lease almost 9 months ago.
The laundry rooms are in fairly good shape. They just raised the price of the washers to $1.25 and the dryers are $1.00. Slightly better than just going to the laundry mat. But they get used by duplex neighbors if the doors to the rooms are left open. If you lose your card (no coin operated machines here - yes!!!) you're out another $5 to get another card so hold onto it.
The pool and spa area is well kept and clean.
The landscaping is very nice. The large trees provide great shade during the hot summer months and there are some nice shrubs and rose bushes to appeal to the eye.
Uncovered (unassigned) parking is scarce when u first enter the complex but as you progress you find more.
This is a great complex for dogs as there are plenty of grassy areas to play in. Leash is highly recommended because there are a lot of outdoor cats and wildlife (squirels and birds galore!) to chase after.
My favorite part about this place is it's freeway accessibilty. Its one block from the I-80 and while that does provide some traffic noise, if you've lived in Sacramento before you're probably used to it and don't realize it. They are doing construction to widen Antelope Rd so getting around the neighborhood is quite hectic. But once they open up the 6-lane road traffic congestion will ease up.
This is also a great location for shopping and retail. Wal-Mart is just down the street near the closest Starbucks. You have great fast-food places, a Ralph's, a couple pizza places, a 7-11 and also a gas station. Whatever you need is just on the corner. Not to mention a cheap gym that you can walk to.
