Nice Property, but terrible staff & a lot of trashy residents.

We've been living at Salishan for nearly a year now. We moved here because a friend had recently moved in here and we really liked the look of the complex, inside & out. The inside is spacious and recently remodeled with brand new appliances, fixtures, cabinets, paint, carpet & tile.
The mainetance staff is very quick to respond to service requests, however, our friends who referred us to this complex recently had a large sum of cash stolen right out of their apartment by the maintenance guy sent to fix their dishwasher.
The office staff is, of course, really nice and friendly when they are trying to lease an apartment to you. But once you are a resident, they could care less about you unless it concerns them. The manger will be disgustingly, overly friendly to your face but not do a damn thing about your issue once you walk out the door. They have lost one of our rent checks (We each write our own check for our half of the rent) twice now and never even apologized. They pracically blamed us for their mistake.
Our biggest issue with this complex is the NOISE. A lot of the residents are young and trashy and think its okay to play loud music and party all hours of night and day. The people behind us were CONSTANTLY playing loud music that would shake the walls in our unit!! It took nearly 2 months of complaining to the office staff and the 'security patrol' guy before they finally stopped.
Despite my complaints, I do recommend this complex becase, for the price, the apartments themselves are really nice due to the recent rehab. The complex is generally safe and well lit at night. They have nice amenities like 2 pools and a basketball court & playground.

I completely agree with the noise factor. We had one neighbor who constantly played music so loud that our walls would shake. He moved out, but our other neighbors now do the same. I understand the manager can't evict people for playing loud music, but it would be nice if they would do SOMETHING instead of shrug and say they can't do anything about it. I'm sick of having to live at the whim of what my neighbors are doing. I can't come home sick if my neighbors are in the mood to listen to music because I can hear their bass from every room.

I can't agree more with both the original and first response. I don't know why they just don't take the "luxury apartments" sign down and put up a sign that says "dorm rooms for rent...party on." Doesn't anyone oversee the staff, including the manager?
