Very corrupt and shady.

While I lived at the Summer Field Place Apartments several things went wrong. I started out living in a single apartment/cottage type. I have to say that the apartment was adorable and had personality of it's own. I like where I was for the time being. After living there for a month or so, one evening the maintenance man knocked on my door, I answered and he told me to keep my blinds shut from now on because there is a guy that has been caught 3 previous times looking into my home at me (a peeping tom). I was very upset to hear this news and even more upset that he was previously caught and no one told me a thing of it. I asked if this man could be pointed out to me so that I could keep my distance and the maintenance man told me "no". Even more so was I afraid because I could see this man everyday and not know it was the peeping tom. I was also told by the maintenance man that this man was caught peeping in on the previous renter as well. But this time after peeping in on me he would be evicted. This report was never documented in the office or with police. I feel that that is an endangerment to me and anyone who lives there also I felt that the apartment manager was taking away my rights of safety by not reporting this incident and by not allowing me to know who this person was.
The phone jack in my apartment was not working so the manager asked that I call the phone company to replace my jack and I would be reemberssed of any costs. I was never paid the $160.00 that was charged to my bill. I called the office several times for my refund and since that too was not documented they gave me problems and wanted a copy of the bill etc. I gave them what they needed and till this day they still have not contacted me regarding this situation. Finally I just gave up calling and asking for my money.
When I left the apartments I cleaned my apartment excellently! I cleaned the carpets 3 times too because I had a puppy that peed on the floor while I was trying to potty train him. First the manager called me and told me that they needed someone to follow up on my cleaning and I would have to pay for it. Now! that apartment was spotless! They were just trying to get money from me. They did get $250.00 to have another professional person clean the carpets but I felt that was owed since my dog did have problems. At first they wanted me to replace the 5-7 year old carpet that was in terrible shape but my husband told them not to go there and they didn't. This type of apartment is managed by corrupt people who lie and steal. If you ever rent make sure it is a professional company that you rent from. And yes Linda is only nice to you to your face and if you kiss her butt! She is a terrible manager and very corrupt. I belive fare is fare but this apartment building does not belive in being fare.
If you move here just be aware and ready to deal with what comes your way. It isn't a terrible place to live but I would not recomend it to anyone.

Well, Let me start from years back when I first lived hear. That would be about 5yrs ago. I have never had a problem of anykind back then. The management was always on top of things. Very polite and respectable. Never had any deposit issues. The maintenance man was very proffesional and extreamly helpful. As far as living, I felt very safe and secure. I ended up moving due to personal reasons, nothing to do with the appartment complex or staff. During my 3year absence I ended up moving back. I have been back to this complex now for one year. I have had nothing but possitive experiences. never have i felt not safe. Linda was the manger that moved me in. I truely never had any problems with her. She never gave me any problems. She tended to my needs and made sure that things were good. She ended up leaving for whatever reasons. There have been two other mangers since her. Never once have I or any of the tennants expressed any kind of problems with Past and Present management. The current manager is a very nice individual. She has nothing but respect for us. She treats us very respectfuly. She will take the time to say hello to her fellow tennats. I personally had some concerns about my appartment. The concerns were listened to and addressed in a timely manor. Bottom line. I would recommend this appartement complex to anybody. It is very safe and very family friendly. Nothing but Gold Stars and thumbs up.
