Ahhh.. Clayton Creek! My first apartment rental (as an a adult, ie, non college student). I have lived here for about a year and a half, and let me tell you I wish that I could stay! The rent here is pretty darn reasonable considering the Concord area! This was actually the cheapest deal that we found in a not scary area of Concord. Upside about location: you are close to Safeway, Albertsons, KMart, and Maverick's (Great Gym!). Also Walnut Creek or Clayton (which has a nice library for you college students) are just a hop, skip and jump away. Downside to location: You are quite far from the major freeways (prolly like a 10-15 minute drive.. not that far, but I hate driving). As far as parking goes: AMPLE AMPLE AMPLE. I lived in a 2bd 2ba, and although we only get one assigned parking space, I have NEVER had a problem parking near my apartment. Lighting is good; I have never experienced a break in (but my car sucks anyways, so I doubt anyone would want too...hehe). Downside: I think the spaces are kind of small, and sometimes if people have a lot of guests or are in some kind of group, then parking might be scarce (but not THAT bad of a problem). I do wish that they had two assigned parking if you rent a 2BD 2BA. Laundry: 24 Hours, Beautifully Maintained, Close to Apartments, Lots of Machines, and CARD USE!! <-- this is THE BEST feature of all. No more coins to carry!!! Downside: Sometimes (but rarely) a row of dryers would be out of order.. so that sucked. Apartment themselves: Not exactly luxury living, I mean these apartments were built like 10-15 years ago I think, but not 70s yellow and green colors either. The color scheme is mostly "brown" which is reminiscent of the late 80s. This is ok with me since most of our furniture was that color anyways. Brown. Storage definately sucks though. There isn't too much cabinet space in the kitchen, but we bought some brown cabinets to store our additional food in and it has worked out fine. The apartments are laid out nicely though and I like the fact that they have central air and heat. As far as noise, not really too bad here. Occassionally I think some of our younger neighbors have parties and the music is loud, but its usually on fridays or saturdays if they do. As far as the patios, nice sized, they let you BBQ and if you want some privacy, you can add "faux white picket fencing". Its cute. Really. I have never swam in the pool here nor have I used the gym, so I really don't know too much about that. Apartment management: Well Jonelle orignially leased us the apartment and she was very nice. However, the people I see know are really nice too! Jessica always knows what packages I am there to pick up (and I feel 100% confident about the security of rec'd packages), and she has even helped me out by staying a little later so I can pick my stuff up! The manager (the guy, I think) has also helped me carry a like 80 lb package to my car! I really have had absolutely no problem with management; I think they are all wonderful people! Maintenance is fairly quick to deal with any problems (although I've only had like 2) and are courteous. Downside: The older gentlemen is kinda rude at times, but the other guys are all really nice. I think thats about it. I will be planning on leaving here soon (for career purposes), and must say that I have loved every minute living here. I left such a long review because I wanted to be fair about everything, and I want people to know how great Clayton Creek really is. It is going to be the standard for my living situations from now on.
