Save Your Money - Outrageously Expensive For What You Get

I have lived in many apartments in my life, but never have I lived in a place that ripped us off like this property. After our initial lease term, they raised our rent nearly $800 per month. As you know, when this happens, you can either suck up the huge rent increase or move neither is a fun option. We ate the rent increase until we could find another place.
Upon move out, we did not get our deposit back; they charged us a lot extra. These charges included: 1) large charge for repainting, 2) carpet cleaning, and 3) VERY LARGE cleaning charge. (I know you what you are thinking that we left the place in total disarray, but we actually cleaned the apartment spotless and there was absolutely no damage done.) We were very disappointed these business practices. Just know it will be impossible to get your deposit back.
Don t be fooled by the gated community aspect. Parking and security are terrible. Our car was broken into. Break-ins are very very common, yet the complex does nothing about the problem. The attitude was basically, that it was a bad part of town and so too bad for the residents. We know of neighbors having their apartment broken into fortunately that did not happen to us. Parking is also not enforced. The visitor spots are always taken by resident vehicles including the handicap spaces so your guests will never have a place to park.
The exercise room was small, often crowded and hot.
The location of the apartment complex is next to some very busy streets and close to the police station; thus it is very noisy. You should either be a very heavy sleeper or do not plan on sleeping in.
The apartment was poorly insulated and our heat/cooling bill was very expensive (three times more) in comparison to other comparable places we have lived. Cannot comment on maintenance, we never had them come over.
The girls in the front office are nice, but at the end of the day, their friendliness did not outweigh the huge hit to our pocketbook.
