This is a dangerous place to live!

There is no security at all at this apartment complex - and the neighborhood is very questionable. Although there are security gates and restricted access to the garages, I witnessed and reported a break in by two men who simply reached through the 'security gate' and turned the handle. Once they were in they had access to all areas of the complex. I called the night 'security' service for help and was told that this was 'a maintenance problem'. I reported the break-in to management and never heard anything back from them. No one even asked how it happened so the problem could be fixed! The only response I got was a threat that if I moved out, I would have to pay rent for the remainder of my lease!

Unfornately, there is no such thing as "security" anywhere. Yes, the property is gated but I am sure you would not want to live in a community that is covered in barbed wire. I can climb a fence or over a gate. I have when I misplaced my keys. The "security service" is not security they don't carry weapons. Nobody has ever been attacked or killed or raped etc as far as I know. I checked with the Police. The police can't do anything to people who reach over a gate and open it to get inside.
