Mixed feelings but hopefull...

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
The Good:
Neighborhood:
We're 2 blocks from downtown which is great, for a nice night on the square.
Apartments:
the apartments are nice, Clean, well maintained & the appliances are top notch. Dishwasher actually cleans the first time! (you'd understand if you lived in a place with a useless one in the past!)
Community:
The community is great, the pool is always clean (Never crowded) and you can always find a friendly crowd over there, the gym; it's not fancy, but its is a place to work out, we also have a theater room (witch I have yet to use, but it looks awesome) The business center is functional, but needs better hours of availability (since right now it closes @ 6pm (just about the time most people would actually need to use it)
Staff:
the new staff (Sean & Sheila along with all the maintenance crew) are good, they handle things as they come up & have been quick & friendly about it. I did have ants when I moved in, however, I understand this is common for the area & it was handled right away with no re-occurrence. The management team i new so I understand they need time to evaluate the problems they acquired from the old team, but I wish some would be handled faster.
The Bad:
Security:
I was here less than a week before my car was vandalized (in the locked garage)the damage cost me 600 bucks to fix, Having that said, I do have to say that the damage could have been worse & there's no way to know if security deterred further damage or not. ((I use security lightly as I refer to an 80 year old woman who drives from one garage to the other looking for trouble) Problem with this is when she enters the garage, it sounds a loud beep letting anyone up to no good know that she's on her way) The community could benefit from some type of video surveillance considering that there has been a rash of such problems in the garages & more emphasis should be placed on catching the people who are doing it.
Community:
As I mentioned before, the use of "amenities" hours should be extended to suit the needs of the people who would use them most.
Staff:
There is one woman (Pam) in the office that is absolutely USELESS, she's rude & only cares about signing up new residents. If you live here already don't go to her for anything because she will flat out tell you that she's busy with a "perspective" resident & you should make an appointment! Many residents have complained about her & even considered starting a petition to get rid of her! We hope that the property will handle it before it get to that point.
All in all, I like living here so far & truly believe that this new management team will help turn around some of these problems.
