Luxury prices, section 8 living
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 10/21/2002
Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2001
My family lived there for 2 years. At the time, it was being converted into "luxury apartments" from section 8 type slums. This meant a new coat of paint and higher prices. At the time, however, it was all we could afford.
Management was surly and neglected to acknowledge maintenance calls (I guess they were still in the Section 8/slum lord mentality). We had a leak in our apartment for 6 months. I had called the management weekly and they didn't come. Mould was growing on the walls and there were mushrooms growing on our carpets. It was disgusting.
We also had a neighbor that liked through wild, noisy parties and whose guests would climb up on the roof over our bedroom. Pretty scarey if you ask me.
If you are looking for section-8-style housing at luxury prices, this is the place for you! Otherwise beware!
