I have been here 2 1/2 years and have mixed feelings due to my car and apt being broken into within 8 months. I didn't have anything in my car to lure anyone. They didnt take anything, but it was ransacked. You have to be sure to use your security bar on your slider if you live on a bottom level. Three of us in the same building got broken into one morning. It was a thug from Perris and he got caught the next day. Security only comes by 3x during the night. They are based in San Bern, so it takes them 45 min to get here if you call them like I did. I now live upstairs and still use my security bar. I wish they came by more often. Parking is awful if you have guests because residents have mutiple cars and you have to deal someone taking your spot once in a while. There are a lot of wild animals here. I have seen coyotes, skunks, apossums, and a ton of rabbits. The traffic from the elementary school sucks. You have rude parents coming in and dropping off their kids and blocking the west entrance/exit to the complex which isn't gated. It is pretty expensive, but it is Sierra Del Oro...... First of all, ransacked means stuff was taken. It's unfortunate that people break into places that don't belong to them, but I have heard of plenty of other complexes that have a higher rating of this kind of act. Installing some gates will probably decrease that situation considering, that unlike other complexes, it's not the neighbors commiting the crimes. Also, you can request a handout of common sence actions to take to protect you and your possessions. Yes, the sliders are equipped with security bars, as all sliders are equipped with some type of extra locking mechinism. It takes no time at all to push the bar into place when leaving your apartment. People who own houses will also say the same thing. If security is your paranoia and you need security on-site to round your place every five minutes, then either, higher your own peronal security guard or become head of your neighborhood watch. Frankly, none of these are really needed in this area to prevent the occasional break-in, that can be prevented by taking the common sence steps to do so. For those who remember Corona over 10-15 years ago they remember having to wait four hours for a sheriff to show up and rush through your call to get to the next one. At least some fingerprints will not have begun to decompose in 45 mins. Although, I will restate my agreement on the suggestion for the installation of some gates to decrease the traffic of non-residence.
As for the animals, the Cleavand National Forest has been cut into every year. I have watched the forest shrink for the last 20 years. With the shrinking area and drought the animals are dealing with it is only their survival instincts to enproach on what is now "human territory." I rather like to see a wild animal every once in a while, my camera can't get pulled out fast enough sometimes. It reminds of the way this area used to be, well, minus the abundance of beautiful hawks. So, if you're a person that doesn't like coyotes, skunks, apossums and cute harmless bunny rabbits then don't live by a forest that had to be cut down to build a rather nice apartment to hang your hat. Move to L.A. or New York where the vermin you'll complain about will be sewer rats and the homeless.
