Quite a racket they have going on here. The drug dealers were down at Promenade until enough people complained and called the police. It looks like management just moved them to the Ashton. Equity owns all these apartments and that's part of their scam. When they raise your rent, which they do at any opportunity, they will claim "market value". Ask the leasing agent or even the manager how they come to this figure. They have no answer. It's just a number they pull out of thin air. There is no market rate because there is no market. They have a monopoly on apartments in this neighborhood.

It was almost hilarious when I asked a leasing agent how they determine "market rate". They looked like they had never been asked before.

I honestly believe that some in management are getting kickbacks from the drug dealers. Anywhere else this expensive would put a stop to those problems but here they just blow you off and move a few more criminals in. I've seen some in the office getting very friendly with known criminals here. It really seems like they managed to invade management here to be able to have a safe place to conduct their illegal business.

DO NOT expect your vehicle or apartment to be safe here. Do not trust management in your apartment. Let them know that you expect notice if they intend to enter. They routinely will enter without notice, for non-emergencies which is illegal. Many vehicles are broken into around here.

Don't waste your time complaining to the office or even the corporate office. They don't care. They make money off of the turnover anyway.
