Oh my gosh, don't they do background checks on people before they lease apartments? Sex offenders are required to register...it's a simple web search. I'm horrified; we live at Brookwood and there are children all over. Nice one, Management!

I personally know this person and the manager is right not everything is as black and white as it seems. Im familiar with Meganslaw.com and management companies are not allowed to disclose information like that or do background checks on applicants thats why the public has access to information like that and if that is a concern to you when you move into a complex then they encourage you to be proactive and search those websites. People that have past issues have a right to live in apartment communities just as much as the next person. I think it shows great appreciation for residents that there was a neighborhood watch meeting focused directly on this issue and members from Corona Pd were brought in to disclose the information that managment could not. If you visit meganslaw.com you will see theres not too many places that you can live that dont have someone from that website on there in the surrounding area. For people looking to live in this area i wouldnt be put off by the review i have lived her for almost a year and love it! And like i said i personally know the person being discussed and he is one of the kindest persons i have met!

I'm not sure how much gray area you can find when someone has been convicted of "rape by force/fear etc." I lived there for about a year, and my best friend moved in right after I did, and is still there. Neither of us knew about this. Maybe this is something you should disclose to residents and possible residents. Neither my friend, or myself ever heard about any meeting to discuss a rapist. And again, between the two of us, we have lived there continuously for the last year and a half. And btw, just because I have brought this up, does NOT show my appreciation of living there. It shows my concern for others who live there.

I would like to respond to this issue, as the Manager of Brookwood Villas. Meganslaw.com is a public site in which anyone can log on and see Sex Offenders in their commnity. This situation was discovered several months ago and we actually held a Neighborhood Watch Meeting focused on nothing but ths issue, in which we had the Riverside County Sheriff's Dept. SafeTeam and a Detective from Corona P.D. here to host the meeting. With them being here and able to disclose more information that we are permitted to, they explained the circumstances and gave more detail than what is seen on Meganslaw.com, which put residents at the meeting more at ease. Please keep in mind that not everything you see in black & white tells the whole story. Everyone has personal circumstances that affect their lives. If there is still concern to this issue, I would be more than happy to invite the SafeTeam and Detective Edwards back to the property to host another Neighbprhood Watch Meeting. I have children of my own, so I can appreciate the concern, but again not everything is black & white. I will be looking at these apartments in the near future for myself. I am impressed that the manager took the time to respond to this.
