Yo!

rats and theft

I am currently a resident at The Hills of Corona, and have been for a year and a half.

In my time living here we have had a rat problem, which we informed the apt staff about who decided the most appropriate course of action was to place glue traps under the dishwasher and told us to notify them to remove the trap when it had caught something. Ive thought about notifying public health about the problem, but it has stopped recently, but not after my own snap-traps caught 5 rats in a 24-hr period. It was insane.

The next issue is the crime:

My car has been broken into on 3 occasions at this apt complex. The first two times I had to replace the passenger side window which they smashed to gain entry. After the 2nd I leave my doors unlocked and nothing inside the car, so the third time they simply looked and found nothing to take, but left the glove-box open, and my items on the floor of the car before leaving.

My brother has also suffered the loss of his 700$ bike last night (which prompted me to write this). He's on summer break and went out this morning to go out for a ride and was surprised to find his bike missing off the porch. My brother claims theres no reason to file a police report about it since thieves will spray paint the bike and file the serial# away.

A neighbor has brought it to our buildings attention that his car was stolen out of the parking lot (located inside the gate, a mere 25-or-so feet from his apt unit.

The Hills of Corona staff installed light fixtures to the outside parking lot to deter theft but have a 'we do not take responsibility for stolen or damaged property' policy so they cannot be held accountable for the safety of their tenant's property nor their cars.

These two issues alone are enough, in my opinion, to warrant that you overlook The Hills of Corona and not make the same mistake that the current tenants here have made.

With that being said, the actual apartment is roomy, provisions (gym pool staff) are satisfactory, and the neighbors quietly keep to themselves. So choosing this apt as your home is ultimately up to your discretion. Just be sure to get renter's insurance if you do. gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7
