When I chose to rent at Avalon Newport, I was newly single and thought it looked like a nice, "home-y" place. They talked me into one of the "cottages", which, inside was OK, but the few windows I had faced right into my neighbors' windows and the walls were thin! At first, they told me that I had parking rights to a garage AND to the space in front of it. But within a couple of months, I came outside to go to work on Monday morning and my car was GONE! When I called the office to report it stolen, they told me it had been towed for being in a "fire lane" -- a mysteriously UNmarked one, I guess. NO signs, NO red curbs, the spot they TOLD me to park in. That time, they paid for me to get my car back, but I had to literally chase the tow-truck people away from my car two other times. There was a lot of loud partying at Avalon Newport, too, so, as a professional working person, it was hard to get a good night's sleep. I was fairly entertained by the neighbor behind me -- she and her boyfriend would hang out on her patio NAKED, get high and have sex. Don't be fooled by the new paint and nice landscaping -- it's NOT a good place to live.
