I agree with the fact that there are lots of noisy college kids, but considering the fact that my husband and I are only a year out of college, we are somewhat used to dorm-style living (no, we weren't loud party people). Ants come in groves no matter how clean you keep your apartment. And of course ants leads to spiders and other not fun things. Parking is horrible. And for that reason, noone will ever come to visit you. And god forbid, if you have a one bedroom and two cars, you are royally screwed, one of you will have to drive to BFE and walk miles to your apartment. I agree, the elevators always smell putrid. It was so bad I would walk up and around the ramp in the parking garage rather than take the elevator. Which was totally unsafe for a woman to do by herself. Even if you are on the first floor it is a pain to move in because there are so many stairs. Management is unavailable and unaccomodating. They take off weird hours and many times won't answer the phones or return multiple messages. (Take note of all the moss growing around the plantars, and also the fact that the EM&M trucks are always there - they "fix" the moisture problems) My husband and I both were sick for months, and we couldn't figure out why and we couldn't get the musty smell out of the air in the apartment. Come to find out we were being slowly poisoned by the mold growing through the walls and throughout the carpet in our closet. It was so bad that all of our clothes were damp and if you left a paper towel in there for longer than 10 minutes it would be damp when you picked it up. I wouldn't be surprised if the mold was there before we moved in and management just chose to paint over it. This was the last straw for us. I will say this for the management... we threw a pretty big fit and they let us out of our lease early, with only a minimal financial penalty. I don't know if they are going to try to damage our credit yet. Overall, I would never let anyone I cared about in anyway live here. And I would feel morally responsible if I didn't warn people about the medical hazards of living at the Martinique. I wish I would have known about apartmentratings.com before I moved in there. TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY, PLEASE DON'T MOVE IN.
