DON'T MOVE HERE! Management are liars: they raise rent $300/month, tow your car for $

My wife and I moved into Camden in Feb of 2006 and our lease is up in a couple months. We can't wait to move! They sent us a letter a 3 weeks ago about our rent increase and it wasn't too bad. Then a week later, they sent another notice and said the previous one was an error. Our rent is increasing $244/month for a 15 month lease, $450/month for a 9 month lease! They are complete idiot/robots there. The staff rotate from property to property and you never see the same people. Every month when I go in to pay my rent, there are new faces I've never seen. They all say the same company answers "I understand your frustration, but it's out of our control." I've had neighbors leaving because the rent goes up too much. It's a hole for college students who's parents pay their rent. No way college students can afford it themselves, so when you tour the place, they make it sound great.
When we moved in, we had over 15 problems with our apartment. The bathroom was filthy and had dead bugs and a razorblade left on it. We were hot and sweaty from moving but were too grossed out to even use the shower. There was paint all over the carpet and mirrors. The blinds were broken, the toilet didn't even work. It took 3 MONTHS for them to fix everything. Our fridge wasn't in the apartment when we moved in. They left one on our DOORSTEP later. they didn't even install it. I demanded money off our rent, and the idiot manager said they can't do that. She saw I was serious, so she gave us a "free apartment cleaning" and a gift card to a restaurant.
It's true: they tow your car for no reason. If you park your car in a leasing spot just to run upstairs for a second, you come back down and it's gone. They are supposed to wait an hour to call the towing company but they do'nt. The tow truck snatches up cars right away. It costs $254. They absolutely have a deal with the towing company. the tow trucks literally roam around waiting (as someone here posted, like vultures!) to tow any car that parks in a spot so they can get the money. And make sure they don't damage your car or steal anything. Check EVERYTHING. There are empty spots in the garages, for over a year, and they always say the same thing "We're going to evaluate the spots in the next couple of weeks." They've said that every month for a year! They always say "we have guest spots." There are like 10 of them for 700 people.
They say they don't allow dogs, but there are at least 25 dogs that I've seen, and they are very inconsistent with enforcing their policies. Oh and forget it if the elevator breaks. There are NO STAIRS in the lower level garage so you have to walk up the ramp and to the other stairs. It will take them a week to fix.
Management DO NOT care about the tenants AT ALL. They never listen, and just feed you answers they got in their training. They are like robots, they don't care about you. They purposely jack up the rent so high that you have to move, so they can sell your place to someone else. When you try to negotiate with them or get any kind of help, they don't care. They want you to leave. They just shrug and tell you it's out of their control, the computer determines the rent.
It's not worth it.
