The Unofficial Dorms of OCC

Camden is right across from OCC, and basically serves as its unofficial dorms because this place is overrun by the braindead idiots who couldn't get into a real college. If you are a working professional or family, choose any place other than this one! Let me go through the problems step by step.
1. This place is loud, loud, loud at night, and calling down to the "courtesy" patrol will get you nowhere. Well I guess as a courtesy they sit there and listen to your problem, but that's about all they do.
2. Crime is rampant. I've seen at least 4 CSI vans at various times parked in the complex, because here at Camden, either you or your neighbor will experience vandalism of your apartment or car (One of the girls here just got done telling me her tires were slashed), robbery, or rape. People also steal from the mailboxes, so consider getting a PO box. Let me tell you, it's oh so much fun to come home after a 9 hour work day only to find that your "home" is being visited by the police regarding yet another crime.
3. The management is vapid, fake and uncaring. The office bimbettes are probably OCC graduates actually. The ONLY thing they care about is getting you to sign that lease. The minute you do, you cease to be of any importance to them. Camden is a giant corporation, their only concern is how many units are full vs. how many are sitting empty.
4. The maintenance men are actually very nice, but it will take several calls for them to come and fix your problem. Don't bother to do the responsible thing and schedule an appointment for them to come up, because they will either miss it entirely or come two hours late. Just call down to the office and tell them you need help now.
5. If you want to have a guest over, make sure they come between the hours of 7 AM and 12 PM (weekdays only), or else they won't have anywhere to park. Seriously, in a complex with over a hundred units, there are only about 20 guest parking spots.
6. Cats are allowed, but you will pay dearly for that luxury. When I lived in Los Angeles, my roommates and I had 3 cats, and no extra charges. My one cat here costs an additional $360 per year, plus an extra security and cleaning deposit.
7. Housing in CA in general is overpriced, but at Camden it's especially true, because they haven't updated any of its appliances since it first opened. All of the kitchen and bathroom equipment are beyond old, and barely hanging on.
Even if Camden slashed its rent by half, it still wouldn't be worth it to live here. Shame, because the location isn't bad, but the OCC kids completely ruin it. They are here on 3-6 month leases, their parents pay the rent, so they don't care if they treat it like a Mumbai slum. I'm sure there are nicer (and safer) slums than this one!
