Casa De Oro used to be a really clean and great place to live... the trees gave it a park feel like no other community appartments I have ever lived in, but the new managing company has converted this place into a the worst place to live in the area.
The trees have been cut, probably about 50% or more.
The new Manager is unreliable, not very honest - they have personal problems and the fix it guy, needs fixing.
The rent has gone up by over $300 in 2007 alone, and now you also have to pay utilities, which are formulated by the new managing company instead of the utilities company.
There is an Ant problem that has become a hazard as they occupy the entire house, waking up with ants is a nightmare.
The trash bins are not emptied in a very consistent manner and it started to look a little gettho, there are dishwashers that sit infront of the maintanace shop for weeks, and there is large trash that sits next to the bins for months.
I have seen all of our friends move out, and people continue to move out - I wish the old owners would buy the place back, becasue it sucks right now.

Casa De Oro is STILL a clean and great place to live. Yes it sucks that the trees were cut down, but it's still one of the nicest apartment complexes to live in in the area.
The new owners are not the best, which is why the current MANAGER is always battling with them to help keep the tenants happy. Rent has gone up, which is tough, and yeah it's not cool that we now have to pay utilities, but it's still less than the other complexes around us.
There is no "new" manager. I've lived here almost 4 years and Sharon has been the manager from day one, and she's very honest, almost to a fault.
Bill, the fix it guy, works his ass off to make sure everything here is liveable. He is at our apartment promptly to fix any problems we have.
Trash is taken out every Monday and Friday. And it is consistant.
It is not the manager's responsibility to dispose of large trash, such as mattresses. That is our responsibility (the tennants)
I had ants too. Get and ant trap.
