I moved to Harbor Greens in Dec of 03. The unit I was to occupy was missing light bulbs, a pice of glass in one of the windows and the back yard was landscaped with dog crap. It took a month to have these issues corrected. Of course that was after numerous contacts addressing the problem with preperty management. But the more you press on an issue, the faster it will get tended to. In March of 04, construction began and it is now Nov of 04 and it's just starting to wrap up. That's 9 months of construction. Talk about a lengthly process. No doubt, it does look better then it did, but I feel the residents who were occupying the units at the time of construction should be given some kinda consession or discount for having to suffer during the uncomfortable living enviornment for so long.
As far as noise goes, I haven't had a problem with it. Being that the property is so close to a college, one would be foolish to think there wouldn't be college kids living here. And college kids = Party's and noise. Big deal. you'll find that anywhere. Unless you live in Irvine with a bunch of tight ass security and ---- head cops that get a kick out of breaking up any small gathering of friends.
Parking has never been an issue and I've never been towed. There are plenty of spots off site. I've even had up to 10 friends come over and find spots on the street or in the nearest parking lot. My guess is that the ones complaining about parking are just lazy slobs that wont settle for anything less then a 15 step walk to their front door, the ones that got tickets are too stupid to read signs, and the ones that got towed had to learn where not to park the hard way.
I've never seen hookers or crack hores. I see a punk rocker here and there and maybe a trash digger, but have never been confronted or felt unsafe.
My neighbors are fine, we communicate fine and saying hello is all it took. I know that's impossible for some of you hard asses.
The fitness center is old skool and the equipment is not maintained. I haven't been in the pool so no comment about that. I have a washer and dryer in the unit so no complaints about the laundry facility accept that if you plan on doing laundry late, you better be waiting in the facility or they'll lock you out and you'll have to wait till morning to get your clothes.
Overall, I think the place isn't too bad for what it's offering. How many townhomes can you find with two huge bedrooms, a washer/dryer hook-up, 1.5 bathrooms, a fireplace, a good sized patio and two guaranteed parking spots. I haven't found a better price anywhere worth comparing. So don't completely turn this place down, just know what you want, then make your decision. Happy searching!
