The Meadows isn't all that bad, but it's not worth the money and frustrations.

The Meadows have both pros and cons. Here is a list of both:

Pros:
-Wonderful and beautiful landscaping
-Elevators (the complex IS 3 stories)
-Nicely modeled apartments: made of rug, wood, and tile-like linoleum (bathroom only)
-The community gatherings, such as movie night and frequent get togethers/dinners sponsered by the management company
-Office is open at decent times (7 days a week/until 6 pm) and is very professional.
-Maintence has been good to us--within 24 hours.
-Overall, the neighbors are nice.

Cons:
-Somewhat expensive, our studio cost us $1140 to start and now, after renewing our lease is now $1240 (FOR A STUDIO).
-No air conditioning, yet we pay an arm and a leg for such a small apartment.
-Walls ARE VERY thin. One neighbor, would listen to his television extremely loud and speak on the phone using speakerphone until midnight or later. We have heard him have sex with some very loud female (at 2:30 am). We did try to call security, but they didn't do much so my husband pounded on the wall and yelled. Occasionally, we have had to knock on this man's door, and he has lowered the volume. So far, no problems. Now, the other neighbor also has had a loud female over, moaning and groaning, between 4:30 and 7 pm so you you won't have an appetite for dinner; and better yet, keeps the sliding glass door open so you can REALLY hear them. I have also pounded on their door or have yelled some obsenitites out the window--but it still goes on.
-Parking is ------. People do not know how to parellel park around the neighborhood and you will find your car's bumper and fender hit. Since studios and one bedrooms are assigned only one parking spot; your significant other or guest will have to park on the street. So far, we have about $3000 worth of damage to our cars.
-Laundry can be a pain and is a bit expensive. $1.50 to wash and a $1.00 to dry. The machine only takes $5 and $10 bills (when was the last time you saw a $10'). I wish they would just accept $20. You have to purchase a smartcard for $5 the first time, and make sure you don't lose it. Right now, the washers and dryers are not reading our "smart"card, so we have $8.50 wasted. Try going to management and they only refer you to the company. It has been over a month and it still hasn't been replaced and they informed us if you buy a new card, they will not refund the money for that one. Now, we go to a laundermat.

Although, we've lived in worse--you won't find us renewing the lease. Keep on lookin'.
