It isn't what it seems... From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 2/13/2008 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2008   I've lived here since 05', and it's been nothing but a hassle the whole time! First of all, I live on the first floor. Down here, when someone uses their Garbage Disposal, it backs up into my sink, and BATHTUB' Yeah, I have ground up food and god only knows what else spit up into the place where I stand to take a shower' Gross! The walls are also THIN! You can hear everything from the hallway, and the apartment next door. Up above me, there's some guy who plays his guitar and sings BADLY at any and all hours of the day. AND, they also like to do construction and repairs A LOT, and when they're outside your unit, it's almost as if you had the windows WIDE OPEN! Washing clothes is terrible. The "smart" cards stop working after awhile in your wallet, and it costs $5 for each card! Also, the machine DOES NOT take $1 and $5 bills' WHY NOT' I mean, it's $1.50 to wash and $1 to dry. The machine simply takes $20 and $10' I keep trying to feed it a $5, but it just won't take it' So you put in $20, it eats up $5, and you get $15 on your card. That's pretty shady... On top of that, in my section of the apartments, the card reader was DOWN for almost 3 months, and the washer and dryers are always breaking. It takes almost a month before anything is done about it! One night, I walked through the entire complex looking for a machine that would TAKE MY MONEY, and they were ALL DOWN' That's just careless on the part of The Meadows. Then there's the AIR CONDITIONER problem: there isn't any Air Con here. I went to the Main Office to ask if and why the units didn't have Air Con, and they told me this: "The apartments were built before air conditioners we're installed." Yet, in the office, the air conditioner seemed to be working fine. Funny. The price of rent is another hassle, considering the previous fact. ON TOP of this, only ONE parking space' And for an additional parking space, they charge you an extra $50 a month' And if you park in a space that isn't yours, you get a ticket or a boot that costs $80 to remove' OR, you park outside and have to constantly move your car from one side of the street to the other because of street cleaning, or get a ticket for your trouble' I do NOT recommend the meadows AT ALL!!! Right now, I'm breaking my lease because it's too much of a strain on my finances, and even now, they just keep finding a way to suck more and more money out of me. DO NOT COME HERE!!!
