I lived in The Meadows from 2007-2008 and I could not be more displeased with my stay there.
It was probably my mistake of choosing to live in a complex without looking at the surrounding neighborhood first.
I wouldn't say that my time there was completely unbearable but there were a lot of little things that I just could not stand and management did not seem to make any effort to correct or help the tenants out.
First of all when the lease was signed for a 2 bedroom, only 1 parking spot was provided. You had to pay an additional $50.00/mo just for your roommate to park there.
They do not provide a refrigerator and if you request one, you must pay an additional monthly rent or buy one yourself. This is one of the more annoying aspects of living in a large complex that does not have complete appliances.
There were repeated break-ins of units around our unit. People's televisions were stolen, apartments were broken into. Not to mention the fact that people seem to have a complete and utter disrepect for other residents of the apartment. The windows are extremely thin and we can hear people yelling loud up and down the pathways.
Children/Teenagers roaming the property at all times of the day, riding skateboards, wreaking havoc. People bashing the gates of the parking garage, trying to make it before the gate closes. Just all around you can see people who come from either an uneducated or classless background.
It should go without saying that this type of behavior is expected when you live adjacent to Ladera Heights and Inglewood.

first of all, you meant west LA.
Ladera Heights is community of wealthy Black people. they suffer from the trash of LA too.
