I too have lived at Avalon Cupertino for almost two years and must agree with the most recent review. Things were fine until Archstone took over the property in January 2006. Since then, our maintenance request have gone without repair, over five calls for one request in particular, and they contine to blame their situation on a difficult transition and the fact that "Avalon left us with nothing." They are a huge company and need to get their act together and start fixing their mess.

The quality and care of the grounds has gone downhill along with the quality of the office staff. Our most recent interaction with the Manager has driven us to look for a new apartment (a call and an e-mail to their corporate headquarters have not been responded too either, so perhaps this is a standard for their level of customer service). There might come a time when Archstone will get their act together, but not soon enough for us.
