No Rent Control, RENT INCREASE 1200 BUCKS Expect to move after lease is up.

Although some of the more spacious apartments in the area, Archstone Cupertino is about corporate housing and doesn't care about adding any value to a community. The staff is polite and responsive to maintenance needs, but the corporation is a monster. Since they purchased this community, it has gradually decreased in upkeep. My walkway entrance is often covered enormously gross piles of bird crap, so bad that I had to step over it.When I asked to have it hosed down, they responded they don't do that. Finally we had some rain and it washed a nice amount away, but I don't expect that to last.
My lease ended in the End of February and I did not immediately sign a new one, as I was considering a move. During that time, my rent has gone from 2400 to 3200 a month. I decided to go down and sign a 3 month lease and they told me it would cost me an additional 500 bucks a month to sign a lease.
I'm begging corporations to please not rent from this company as you are exacerabating the situation. Every month I see the same apartments empty the same rented furniture, get new carpet, repaint and move the exact same furniture back in for the next corporate rental. They're sticking it to you and they're sticking it to this community.
All of my closest neighbors are moving out of their smaller apartments too. They raised their rents 500 bucks a month.
Archstone Cupertino was built after 1979 and is not subject to rent control laws.
