Ants problem is true, also....

..the garbage disposal in the kitchen is way too loud!! This is not a major concern but something to be aware of. Come summer time , there are antz in the kitchen and the bathroom.
The noises from the street are horrible (especially the ambulance and cops sirens)so watchout for that.
to be fair.....here are the positive points:
The apt. itself was really nice and spacious(amenities, etc).
The kitchen is very spacious (in the large 1 bed room, I don;t know about the smaller floor plan) with lots of counter space (counter top has tiles!)
They respond very promptly to maintenance requests.Parking was not a problem ?cos they give one garage for every apt. and for the other car there was enough spaces in the complex.
I thought that security was very good too.
Most importantly the insulation between units is really good. I believe these apts. were built according to townhome specs. and so no unit shares more than 1 wall with other units so we could hardly hear any noises from our neighbors. That was the best part and there is also a lot of privacy (no one ever walked in front of or crossed our apt....there are 2 stairways for every 4 apts!) There comes the security too.
however...
We have to pay for all the utilities though and water itslef costs about $ 15 a month! They don?t even pay for hot water and the PG&E bill used to sky rocket.
The rent is too high at this time when the rents at other places are bring lowered. ( $1600 for a 1 bed room apt.)
