AUTO BURGLARY happened in parking lot .....

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I just moved in two months ago. Before, I thought this is the most safe place in Cupertino because all the extrances, as well as the parking lot, require code(password) or key. But this morning I was totally shocked --Somebody broke into my car and stole away my SONY CD player. The glove box is also broken because it was locked. And all of my favorite CDs are gone, even my car's registration card and insurance proof. The theft wrapped everything away with my bath towel which was left in the car.
The sheriff said,"...you never know your neighbors!" when I was wondering how could the thief enter this gate without password.
