A Fantastic Place to Live

I am 41 and moved with my wife to Cupertino from Michigan. We had been homeowners for 10 years prior to moving here but given the staggering cost of real estate here, decided to rent and get a feel for the market before buying.

Our criteria for a place was a central location, safe neighborhood, higher-end amenities, large 2 or 3 BR apartment and a secured garage.

I don't know where some of the reviewers got their information about Cupertino City Park but I am guessing the input is either bogus info from competing properties or malcontents who were not the best residents.

Our experience has been excellent. I have been amazed at the responsiveness of Julie, Stephon and Andrew to requests for assistance and service. Because of component failures in the oven and dishawsher, they replaced both quickly and without complaint. Before we closed on the lease, I asked that the awning over the deck be repainted and it was done before we moved in. The maintenance staff is top-notch, with quick responsiveness and good follow-through. They also happen to be friendly people.

The staff recently had a coffee and donuts day, where they handed out Starbucks coffee and Noah's bagels to people as they left the garage for work in the morning. Very cool. And a few weeks ago, they hosted a picnic on the grounds for residents. The picnic included an inflatable gym for kids, barbeque meats, drinks, etc.

The complex is quiet and secure. I occasionally have problems with a screaming 4 year old from the apartment below us (some weeks she is out of control, others she is fine) but otherwise the place is quiet. Both the garage and the complex are secured and people seem pretty good about not letting others draft in with them to gain access. I find it very hard to believe that someone experienced a number of car thefts at this complex. The building is secure and Cupertino is a very safe neighborhood.

The grounds are well-maintained. Inside the complex there is nice foliage that often has a calming effect on me when I come home. It has a peaceful feel to it.

I like living here and unless we decided to buy a house, we will stay here another year.
