I lived in both two and three bedroom apartments at Glenbrook and they were excellent. The management staff is genuinely friendly and responsive. The amenities are top notch, including 7 pools, 2 hot tubs, 2 pairs of tennis courts, and fitness rooms. The garden environment is absolutely stunning. The maintainence staff was very professional and always took care of any tiny problem that might arise.

Of course, every apartment complex has its problems, but relative to other places, Glenbrook was the best I've seen.

Unfortunately, there was no A/C, so my apartments at times would get unbearably hot (around 3-4 times each summer). The vaulted ceilings were very nice, but they really soak up the heat from the sun and channel it right into your living room. The laundry facilities are not open late enough, are expensive to use, and are a pain to share with everyone else because they just leave their clothes in the machines all day.

The big complaint about Glenbrook is the rent. I was severely gouged during the height of dot-com boom of 2000-2001 and they refused to lower my rent once market prices had dropped considerably in 2002. Those greedy f_cks. Also, prepare to battle for your security deposit back -- it appears that charging for carpet cleaning, painting, and a bunch of other stuff are simply done as standard procedure instead of when necessary. I recommend doing some research on this topic -- there are laws to protect you from being ripped off when you move out.
