We lived in this complex (Villa Serra, I don't know about the Grove) for almost 6 years total. (2 years in 1br and 4 years in 2br)

All the time the prices were very reasonable and even sometimes lower than in the similar quality complexes.

We have never had any problems with the management (except for they wouldn't allow air conditioner installation and to switch carpet to something more reasonable for the entrance and dining areas, but this is a common issue in *all* the bigger complexes around).

Maintenance guys was always prompt and helpful.
We did have one complaint about maintenance, though, which they said they cannot do anything about: in our apartment (2nd floor) we had a TERRIBLE hot water pressure in the shower! In the peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends - just about all the time we, working people, would be at home) the water was merely trickling with its temperature jumping from boiling hot to icy cold.
But this is the only real problem we had.
Yes, we have seen rats (outside only) and ants (easily taken care of by one spray of RAID, also I think it's a common problem in the area) and the heaters in the pool were breaking and the pipes were breaking, but these problems were taken care of! In addition, heaters, pipes, etc. DO BREAK and I don't think it's management's fault if they do, as long as they fix them.

The swimming pools weren't always as clean as I would like them to be, but it was only ocasional.

This is a GREAT place to live with the small kids - plenty of space to run around, ride their little trikes and bikes (although it's frowned upon by the management, I have never seen anyone from the office complain about a 2 or 3 year old riders), great place to learn swimming (in either of the pools), kids can make a lot of good friends. Yes, some people don't like kids playing outside or inside or just existing, but they should have seen that this is a FAMILY-oriented area and housing and stayed away if they don't like it!

The apartments are very spacious with the nice floor plans and A LOT of storage space (the part I miss now :-) ) and a nice balconies and patios. No windows are too close to the parked cars, trash places are away from the buildings. The parking is never a problem. The greenery almost envelopes the complex. The office staff is usually very polite and they were almost always willing to work with us if there were any questions or problems.

We have even got almost all our deposit back! (well, except for $100 for cleaning, which we believe is reasonable amount to pay if spread over 4 years!) Villa Serra has very clearly stated parameters for the deposit in the contract (such as no pay for the carpet, paint and blinds after 2 years) - other complexes don't have this nice feature and they routinely charge moving out families for all these things.

The only reason we moved was because we needed a 3d bedroom (it's a pity Villa Serra doesn't have any).

Overall, we totally enjoyed our living there.
THank you, Villa Serra apartments!
