Villa Serra is a very attractive community from the outside.. lots of trees, green lawns, pools, rec center, etc. BUT looks can be deceiving..
The trees are slowly being cut down.. I was left with a view of a wall from my bedroom window and no shade.. soon this will be a stark, cold area as cutting continues.
the pools are nice, but only one is heated.. I went swimming last week and found one pool ice cold on a hot day...
There is an ongoing problem with water here. Every month they turn off the water for some reason.. the water pressure is very bad, mostly in the kitchen.. The heating is totally electric. this makes it very expensive. the registers are located by a sliding glass door and other unsuitable places.. the heat is dry and leaves a coating of black soot on walls and everything after using it for a period of time...
there are too many rules.. no BBQs allowed.. might cause a fire.. but.. gas is allowed.. seems to me gas is far more dangeous.. no "this" no "that" the rules are posted on your doors regularly.. if you have children forget this place. they are not allowed to bike play or skate in the common areas..
now the latest in their "quality" apt living is charging for water and garbage. this is not the case in most all apts in the area. I suspect they need to collect money for the plumbing repairs they do on a regular basis. the management is rude, and and this is not a pleasant place to live.. my last complaint is one of a legal nature. i signed a lease there for a year.. the utilies boxes to check for my responsibilty to pay were left blank.. then when the lease was sent to me AFTER signing a few days later the boxes were checked. one was that I pay for water and garbage. if i had known this I would not have signed. i do not recommend this place.. its old and its hot in the summer and cold in the winter. you can hear your neighbor sneeze next door the walls are so thin.. and the wiring is so old it isnt set up for internet or cable use in convenient areas of the apt.. plus i feel the electical system is over loaded as the lights dim sometimes...
overall a big NO.. its expensive old and oh yes NO air condidtioning. but priced the same as apts with this..
