I have lived in the Avalon at Cedar Ridge Apartment complex since August of 2000. I have enjoyed my time here, although, as in most of the Bay Area, the rent is more than I feel the space of my apartment is worth. (I have noticed that theyve dropped since I moved in.) The amenities made the price more worth it, with a nice, but simple, workout facility, a hot tub, heated outdoor swimming pool, a pool table (although only available during the management office hours), and nicely kept laundry facitilites. There is a grocery store, OSH, drug store, gas stations, restaurants, and a variety of other business in close proximity to the complex. The San Francisco International Airport is just south of the complex, so when the planes take off, they are still very low when passing over, so be ready for some loud noise, rattling, and temporary TV disruption. I have to admit that I have gotten used to the airplanes. Vehicles in my possession did seem to have a difficult time existing at this complex. Four vehicles were either stolen, broken into, or totaled. Sometimes on the grounds and sometimes on the street the complex is located on. Bad luck on my part' Probably. As for the parking situation, there tends to be plenty of parking during the day, but the evenings add a bit of a challenge. Mostly you end up parking about a block away from the apartment complex if you do not have an assigned parking spot. They did start to require parking stickers for the cars on the grounds after a certain hour, but never enforced that new rule. It was an attmept to help with the parking problem. On the bright side, the management and maintenance staff are really great. They have responded in a reasonable amount of time to my concerns and questions. They have always treated me with kindness and know me by name and apartment number. I guess Ill have to see about the security deposit when I move out next month (see other review). Received my security deposit back...not a problem. (06/2002)
