When we first moved here, we loved the amenities- pool, fitness room, close laundry room. Then, we realized that as a lower level apartment, we'd never get any sun. Combine that with the fog, and we constantly wage war with algae that grows on the cement in our front 'yard'. The mold problem, which I thought was over exaggerated was definitely not. We left for a weekend once, only to come back and find my husbands' whole side of the closet covered- we lost about 700 dollars worth of clothing. Not to mention keepsakes. We have tried everything the complex has suggested, and still, whenever I cook, water condenses on the walls. Even with the door open! Very poor air flow here. Plus, I don't even think the vent in the bathroom is a vent- I think it just makes noise, since it takes about 45 minutes to clear out the bathroom of mist. We now literally have DampRid packs in every window- and they STILL get full within a week- and have mold on them. Gross, but they help.....and there aren't many places that allow pets, and are safe in the city. Still, when the lease is up- we're moving to a less moldy environment with better parking. Oh- there's also a fungus among us- mushrooms grow all over the timber for the stairs leading to the apartments. If you have allergies, think twice, and then again!
