The issue with mold is not new, it started big time in the late 1970's. I worked there and the place leaked so bad (and it was only a few years old) they sold it to someone else. The mold was so bad even the employees were sick and we were told to tell the renter's to keep the windows open. Sound familiar? The owners sold it to the next group that did a full re-model, except they didn't solve the mold issue. It's not solvable. Few windows, no sun in that part of Daly City, no quality exhaust fans, kitchens and bathrooms in the back of apartments and no way to get rid of the moisture or humidity. We frequently had water coming up from below grade due to poor drainage. It's been the same since Herb Albert (the musician) originally built the place back in 1976 and sold it when he started having these problems. The apartments downstairs are the worst, especially those that have bedrooms under someone else's upper deck. Entire walls covered with green and black mold. We had to use mops soaked with bleach and water to try and fight it back. Drainage is so poor water comes from below grade and saturates carpets. If you must live there, live in an upstairs apartment.
