I lived in a 2 br/1 ba unit. Before that, I lived in a 1 br/1 ba unit in the same building. They were both ok to live in, but it could be better.
The units themselves were pretty good. Nice sized living room and kitchen, and the bedrooms were good size too. BUT the area doesn't feel that safe.
The building itself didn't even have a gate or secured entrance... Random people - non-residents - can just walk in and out of the building.
Parking was a problem with us too. We had 3 cars, but could only park 1 in the parking lot. The other 2 had to be on the street. If we park 1 of the other cars in the lot, the manager has a big cow about it, even though the lot is not even full. At that, he has 2 or 3 NON-WORKING cars parked there! To top it off, street parking was very hard, considering his big eyesore of a trailer is parked out front! ALL THE TIME!
Also, we had an issue when the unit upstairs had flooded their kitchen, and the water actually seeped through OUR ceiling! It made funny bulges and bumps on the ceiling, and one day THE WHOLE CEILING in the kitchen just FELL OFF! When we reported it to the manager, he cleaned it off right away, BUT it did take him forever to get it fixed. So our ceiling was bare the rest of the time we lived there. When we finally moved out (and this was several months after the incident) the manager decided to give us our deposit back. HEL-LO! Bare ceiling! He SHOULD give it back! So that was a disappointment!
On the plus side, the rent was pretty affordable considering that place was close to many things: school, grocery stores, laundromat, gas station, banks, etc.
