Yo!

I still have nightmares!

Years at this apartment: 1997 - 1999

My wife and I lived on Crestwood Drive 1997-1998. The location was very convenient to eveything we needed, so it was ok at first. Until we learned we were living under a psychopath. I won't go into details, but she would scream at us all the time and throw eggs, plants, and anything else she could find at our windows. 10 calls to security, and two calls to the police didn't produce any results.

Finally went to management and asked them to evict her. They refused because she had lived there for about 14 years. I guess they figured they'd rather have a crazy person there who paid rent each month, even if it meant that nobody could live near her.

They offered us an apartment on Poncetta (about 1 mile away) for the same rate. Lived there for a year. It was a bigger place, so we grabbed it. Of course, we had to pay for the move ourselves, even though we were moving because of a problem with the complex itself.

The Poncetta apartment was pretty bad. It was right next to the interstate, so we had to go into the bathroom and shut the door if we wanted to hear anybody on the other end of the phone. The appliances must have all been from the 50's, and the 70's style wood panneling was just out of this world!

The elevator in the building (when it worked) was so small that you could barely fit three people in it. Had to move all the furniture to the third floor via the stairway - while stepping over poop and vomit, on occasion! The laundry facility was woefully inadequate, with only 4 washers and 4 dryers for the entire building (probably over 200 apartments, I imagine).

The funniest part was that you needed a key to enter the front door! Like they thought they were keeping all the bad elements OUT - when most of them actually lived there!

The part about a car graveyard is right. I think there was one car with flat tires and smashed windows that sat in the same spot the entire year we were there. I swear it had spider webs all over it!

I can't recommend this place. It doesn't sound like much has changed since I was there 3 years ago.

The one thing I can say is that we actually got our entire deposit back - so I don't know why other people are saying you don't.
