Convenient but Parking is Horrible

I live in the Westlake area and I rent a room in one of the homes around Westlake Village. I don't know why people have to be so cheap when their assigned parking is only $40/mo extra.
Okay so the apartment is not too modern but it's definitely do-able. But parking is just too horrible. I see residents of this apartments parking in our homeowner residential streets. I sure hopes the City starts charging for parking just like in San Francisco. I don't mind paying for street parking if that's going to at least secure me with a spot every night.
I toured with a gentleman from the leasing office. My first impression is that they drive people away if there are no appointments. But the gentleman was nice enough to squeeze me in. The studio apartments are not the best I've seen but definitely do-able. I like the 50s look though I don't like the small cramped old elevators.
What's good about these apartments is that they blend in with the residential homes and they're walks away from everything.
Another thing I do not like [and I'm quite irrate about SECURITY] is that the night shift security pretends to be roaming around but talks on his phone [i would say] 90% of the time (3 times in a row I saw him pass by)
Overall, I could have rented at these apartments because of the do-able spaces and the convenience (nice people in the front desk so far) but I won't rent because of what I hear about Maintenance (i'm IRRATE of that as well).
