Ok first review I've ever written- because the managment is so horrible.
I lived here about 4 YEARS ago. I JUST recieved a notice that they sent me to collections- why' I left the apartment spotless (far better than the dirty condition I recieved it in). The charged me for various things and took my deposit and are now claiming I owe back rent. They charged for items considered "wear and tear" for which is the only charge legal in California. I also left with no bills and my rent was to date. The apartment was ok- not great but I had no major complaints. DON'T rent here- they will attempt to STEAL FROM YOU YEARS AFTER YOU MOVE OUT!

File a case in california small courts. You can file on line and it costs you only 30 bugs. Clearly they can't bill you for something that took place before 4 years, unless you were notified before. They do these nonsense to a lot of people, esp. to immigrants, and then when the right person counter attack them they withdraw like puppies. Take my word and sue them (just file it, you will hear from them maganement: they want to withdraw and come to a settlement, well ahead of the court hearing)

Thank you Rich for the tips. I was considering doing this. They also have a collection agency on retainer that has been harassing me and told me they would not report to the credit agencies but they lied. They are now claiming I owe a ton of interest... I have also reported Westlake and they have refused to resolve the case.
