I live in a 2bed/ 1 bath for $1645.

Pros:
-for 2 college girls, we have a lot of cabinet space, there's the linen closet, coat closet in the hallway, a cabient plus another medicine cabinet in the bath, and a ton in the kitchen. we have no problem storing things away, and the closets are big
-Appliances such as the stove and fridge were new and work great. our heater works well, and hot water comes through our pipes as soon as we demand it
- neighbors: there are some nice ones that help us out when we're thorwing our trash out or make small convos

Cons:
-Neighbors: there's alot of children in our area that make noise every time they are "playing" they throw balls and scream cause they feel like it. so studying gets a big hard. Our walls are thin so we hear TVs, footsteps, murmurs and music all the time from our neighbors. i can even hear then my neighbors upstairs turn in their bed at night.

-Paint: they paint over everything so it seems clean but in reality, it's sticky, and you can easily leave a mark on the walls

-windows: there's no screens, so we can never open the windows without bugs coming in, and it gets extremely cold because the windows are thin

-WESTLAKE PATROL: it's horrible, they are never around or ever do their job. i've called many times about loud children, but nothing. i've never seen the car drive by. but most of all, when my friend's car was tampered with, when i called administration all they said was we'll tell patrol. tell patrol to do what' patrol here isn't too great. you're better off calling the police. DC's police is very responsive and quick.

-Taking out the trash: going to take out the trash is creepy, we have to go down a dark and unsupportive old stairs into the dumpster. it's disgusting because many neighbors dont bother to even make it in to the dumpster so trash is everywhere. also, people tend to throw a lot of random things away such as mattresses

-bathroom: the showerhead is loose, the toliet is our biggest con because it runs all the time

-you don't get dish network: many of my neighbors have their dish all over the place. we thought we could get that service and all we had to do was then administration approval. but they said we were not able to put a dish up. when i told them 5 of neighbors had it, they just said patrol is working on it. 6 months later, my neighbors still have it.

- administration: not very helpful. there has been many times where they didn't answer our questions
-mail: we stopped getting our weekly ads but when i walk home, i'm accompanied with weekly ads on the ground.

-price: it's expensive, it doesn't cover water, electricity, trash. nothing. :/

-Samstrans: if you're student planning to commute to SFSU. keep in mind if you're not close to bart you HAVE TO take samstrans. it's unreliable, they are late when you want to make to class, and early when you want to go home. also expensive, their monthly bus pass= muni's monthly bus pass that covers bart too.

- and there's a no pet policy! yet, i see people walking their dogs all the time! :/

Pro/Cons: you judge.

-Parking: carports aren't worth the extra money, its not safer, it's far and it's creepy. i park my car in the front and i haven't had too many problems with finding parking. it all depends on when you get there. of course after 5 pm it's crowded but if that happens i park up a block away. but never have i had to park blocks away.

-porch/grass area: there's always trash and mail ads everywhere, we had to make many complaints for them to clean it up, so far they have every time we called

-Safety: There's a lot of light around our apartment, there's not alot of people out at late hours but sometimes i worry about my car because patrol never comes around. and taking out the trash is something i always so during the day.

FYI- check out the FCC (Federal Communications Commission's website. There is a federally backed ruling by the FCC that no landlord may restrict their tenant from placing a dish to get dish or direct tv. This ruling does not say tenants can physically mount a dish on the building but you can put it on your porch or patio... This ruling was in response to calls that Cable company's act as a monopoly. Just call dish or direct tv they will be able to refer you to the information or it might be posted on their website. Good luck
